This stunning 1900's Jacobean sideboard was originally handcrafted by the "Built by John Furniture Company" that began in 1891.
I hand painted the body of this piece using Paint Couture Paint in the color, Dead Black. Texture was added to the top of the piece and also painted in this same color. The base was stripped and refinished in Mahogony stain by General Finishes. The drawers were both sanded and stained in Mahogony, as well. The front of the drawers were decoupaged and hand painted to blend and extend into the existing print. New handles were added as well as new hinges and door stoppers. The drawer stops were all newly glued at the rear of the piece. The insides of the doors were both painted in using Paint Couture Paint also. The decorative accents were all resecured and adorned in Redesign with Prima gold wax to highlight the beauty of this piece. This piece was clear coated in Extreme Guard (clearcoat for high traffic surfaces) in gloss. I tried to leave no detail overturned.
This is gorgeous, statement piece with deep drawers and a ton of storage space for whatever you may consider using it for. Some may store linens or others may like to store clothing or dishes. This is an antique piece and has beautiful, dovetailed drawers and lovely carved details. It has a very rich appearance and definitely would bring conversation by many that see it. Furniture is not make like this anymore! This is a very solid piece! I just know that you won't be disappointed!!

Just so you are aware:
I do my best to visually inspect, repair and refinish all of my pieces. I only use pieces that I find to have "good bones", or otherwise are considered structurally solid. Please understand that while many refinished pieces of furniture are beautiful, they may still show signs of their age in various ways. Pieces may be distressed or show wear. You may notice rubbing on drawers or imperfections. With some antiques, you may see drawers that may swell in extreme weather conditions. Understand that I do my best to repair and revitalize my pieces. By no means do I want to mislead or misdirect my customers. My goal is only to educate and make my customers aware that sometimes you may or may not experience these things with certain pieces.
